This Christmas

After watching a couple of nice movies (Avatar, Princess & the Frog, and a nice christmas movie) I decided to spill out how I feel about Christmas.

I've always loved Christmas. I loved the lights, the trees, the cakes... Everything's so beautiful during Christmas time. But my family, being Buddhists, doesn't celebrate Christmas. However, they did buy me a cake once upon a time. I don't remember how old I was, but it was my first Christmas cake. =) It shaped like a log. Like this one.

And we celebrated Christmas together. Me, my family and my cousins and their families. Honestly, I can't remember how joyful that day was, but I know I was very happy. That was my first Christmas, at least the first one that I could remember.

Few years later, I went on primary school and got busy with schoolwork. That was when I don't have any memory of Christmas. I assume I was spending Christmas doing a pile of homework. I had no choice, I was a nerd.

I turned 13 one day and started my secondary school life. Again, I was busy with school work and I don't remember how I spent all my Christmas Eves and Days.

But I do have some good Christmas stories to tell. =)

There was one year where my parents took me, my brother and my sister out for a Christmas dinner with a family friend and their kids. We were at The Ship at Bukit Bintang. After dinner we walked along the streets. It felt like Christmas, though it's not cold. But everywhere, everyone was holding a bottle of fake snow or ribbons, spraying it in the air, and it felt like snowing. Everywhere was lighted up. It was a beautiful sight. I certainly did enjoy that.

The following year, we did the same. We had our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and headed to Curve to feel the spirit of Christmas. It was pretty enjoyable, seeing that we stumbled into a handsome distant cousin of mine. =P

To me, I like Christmas eve more than Christmas day itself. Maybe it's the food. Haha.

I had a few Christmases spent outside of the country. Let me see, 2. Two Christmases spent out of the country. It wasn't as enjoyable.

Year 2007, I spent my Christmas Eve playing football with the other tour mates in the field of a prestigious hotel in Egypt. Then later we watched the Christmas special event together. My parents left halfway with my brother and sister. I stayed. At the end of the event, they invited everyone to dance together on stage. I went up. Danced alone for a while, then turned around and saw the other Asian girl. We smiled at each other. She asked me where I am from. I told her. I asked her the same. She said, France. Then a caucasian lady danced towards us and she pointed to her and said, "that's my mom." I was surprised because she looked totally Asian. And that caucasian lady is her mom? Impossible. I thought she's a mix. But she said no. She could only speak a little English. Then I asked her something and she replied in French. That's the first time I heard French. Later her mom danced with her and I was alone again. One of the dancers of the event, whom I assume an Egyptian, took me by hand and we just danced. No, it's not the romantic dance dance (though I awfully hope it was a handsome young prince dancing with me). They play some happy, quick-paced music and everyone just move to the music. The egyptian then grabbed the French girl to join us. We held hands and danced in a circle.

I left soon enough. I went back to my hotel room, thinking how pathetic this Christmas is. Turned on the TV and it was playing Shrek Christmas Special. I watched it all and loved it. Show finished. I took out a pen and a piece of paper. I started writing down all that happened that day. Then I went to bed.

The next day, I was all dressed in red. Just to feel the Christmas spirit.

Year 2008, I had my Christmas Eve in a small town in San Franscisco. It was a quiet town. There wasn't Christmas lights on the streets. Not even a Christmas tree was seen. We checked in a hotel. At the lobby was only a few old people talking, drinking. They looked like they were having fun. After checking in, we all retire to our own room. Christmas wasn't over yet. Yet, everyone was asleep. I did not feel a tiny bit of Christmas spirit at all. I was lying on my bed, with a bottle of beer in my hand and the TV switched on, playing god-knows-what comedy TV series in front of me. Oh, and a telephone which I kept looking at on the side table. It did not have to sound that sad, really. I made it sound that way. Because it was 24th Dec 2008. And I was spending it alone in a quiet town of San Francs.

The next day, I spent 5 hours of my Christmas day on a bus.

Year 2009, I have no plans at all. Or rather, I don't want to make any plan. Initially I wanted to cook a feast for my friends and family. But most of them already have their own plans. So it's ok. Then when my family was away for holiday, my maid ran away (I hope she a car hits her when she crosses the road but it's the season to forgive so just FUCK HER). There would be a lot of work to do if I insisted on doing the feast. Yeah I can do all the work. But being me, I'd just throw the work load to my mother and she'll do the rest. So, no. Screw the plan. I'll let my parents decide what to do and I'll just follow them. Maybe we'll go to a family friend's house. Eat and talk and countdown. Maybe play some Christmas songs and everyone sing together. That will be fun. =)

I just watched a Christmas movie. You know, Christmas movies are all about giving, loving and believing. There's usually the real Santa from North Pole. But a movie is a movie. Nothing's real. They believe in Santa, I believe in movies. What? You want me to believe that Santa would give me a boyfriend as a present? Even if I wished for it? And as much as I looooooooooved to live in the world of Na'vi, Santa can't grant me that wish. For one, I don't see Evangeline in the sky. Two, I hate to say this but, there's no Santa. Ironically, I still have a little wish every Christmas season. *I wish there was a real Santa to grant me my wish!*

Oh well. I'm not going to spend this coming Christmas with my beloved friends or any special someone. But I sure as hell could feel warmed up by the love they potray in Christmas movies. They're movies but I love them nonetheless.

Best part of Christmas is exchanging presents but there won't be any this year. Never happened before. I did receive a present from my uncle though. Happened in two consecutive years.

I wanted to get my parents this for Christmas.

But I am short of cash. I could work out a plan like, borrowing money from my dad and then work for his company, earn some quick cash and return it to him. But I'm not sure. And Christmas is near.

All I wantED for Christmas was a feast enjoyed by family and friends and a hardly-possible wish that I still hope comes true.

All I want for Christmas is a good dinner, some Christmas movies, Christmas songs, people talking and laughing, catching up and a Christmas present. xD

Back from Hols!

I am back!

In short, Canada was freezing cold. It was like walking into an ice box. Only difference is, it is COLDER than an ice box: -30 degree celcius.

Taiwan was a food heaven! I ate and shopped puas puas there! xD

Coming back to Malaysia is like walking into an oven. So burning hot! Have to get used to it soon or I'll become a roast duck.

Some things I bought for myself and friends.

More pictures coming up!

Some past tense

Last Minute consists of 3 pianists (me, Hanz, NK) and 3 guitarists (Farid, Uga, Richard). For the past 5 months we fooled around and only started practicing seriously 2 or 3 weeks before show. We have 2 bassists, 3 drummers and 5 singers who played for us, because we're awesome. And they're awesome for playing for us too. :)

Our song list:
1. Final Countdown
2. Bed of Roses
3. Mr Crowley
4. I Got The News
5. Cosmic Girl & Baby Be Mine medley
6. Jaded
7. Stop Loving You

PI also finished already, today. We all know what happened la. ELY took away my paper then I dunno how to solo then I cut from 5 chorus to 2 chorus go back to the head and it sounded like shyt. But nevermind la. I wasn't disappointed also. At least we got the head right. :)

Something random.

I found this night pants at FOS. Damn comfy I like!

Christmas tree pattern! Cool or not! HEHE.

Aliens, dimensions and moral

I can't believe I stayed up doing my moral assignment til. now, as I am always the lazy one. But I did some reading and found out some interesting articles on the topic I am writing: Mankind's original condition. I chose to write on the fourth alternative (as written by Stuart Wilde) - The walk-in theory.

Highly recommended if you are into bizarre stuff as I am. =)

Stuart Wilde is a writer and he put his philosophical thoughts into his writings. The theory on how man walked into Earth is, I assume, his theory. Correct me if I am wrong. I did more research online and found out more about the Kogi tribe that he mentioned. Apparently, the Kogi tribe was from Columbia and the some of them possess the power of a twenty-six dimensional world. Only the special ones who were selected from birth and trained possess such kind of power. They were put in a cave for 9 years where they live in darkness. When they were let out to the real world, they would have the ability to see the other dimensions that we could not.

More on Kogi tribe here. Scroll down till you see "Kogi tribe".

I found the articles ridiculous, especially the part where it says mushrooms activates the human consciousness. (Refer to Stuart Wilde article) Nevertheless, these are interesting reads. A little bit off track, but I would still like to believe in aliens though. The theory on aliens leaving a man and a woman on Earth as an experiment doesn't seem very convincing to me. But I would still like to believe that they exist. It can't be just us and the Earth and this universe we live in. There must be other universes out there, as well as other extraterrestrial beings. Because without them, the world would be so uninteresting. Plus, there were reports on people being abducted by aliens, no? And they came back remembering what happened. Some are detailed, some are not. Some were even threatened not to give out details on witnessing unknown spacecrafts by the Men In Blacks - possibly androids sent by the aliens.

Ahh. Thy world. It is simply too fascinating. I love the space, I love aliens. I love all the unknowns that could be living somewhere out there in the universe. I love that there are more bizarre things to be discovered. I love all the questions that have yet to be answered.

If I were a scientist...

Manga

I'm not Christian but these are good. They put the story of Jesus (left) and Moses (right) into manga. LOL.

I have an extra copy of Manga Messiah if any of you want it.

I am very happy in the state I am in as of now. Had a lot of activities going on and started bonding with the the goldfish and the dinosaur again.

And today, the tribute people went to watch This Is It together. :D It was very worth watching, seriously. Then later hung out at Pelita.

And I broke dunno how many laws today.

1. Drove without license.
2. Parked at the road side - kena saman.
3. Cramped 5 big guys in the back of car and one dugong in front. (Please bear in mind that dugong is a rare and protected species.)
4. Rained heavily at my place but didn't use wiper cause my ticket is stuck to it.

Ok the 4th one is not really a LAW. But still, dangerous. I'm glad I reached home in one piece. I am GLAD that there was no road block, no police car stopping me and no accident while sending the guys back.

Why You Wanna Mess It All Up? - Rachelle Ferrell

I miss my jazz ensemble. Life feels very boring without some heart piercing lectures from ELY. Nobody pushes me to work hard anymore. Nobody makes me stress anymore. No more stressing before class, in class and after class. No more feel of relief after class is over. No more emo black face after class. No more complaints about class. No more saying, "because of ELY!!" when your friends ask you, "why so hardworking?" or "why so stress?".

No more a lot of things.
